Vital Signs Community Assets Survey

Since 2013 we have been asking you to vote on which of the main Vital Signs issues should be the top 3 priorities for philanthropy in Northumberland. We used this information to inform our grant-making and work with donors.

We now want to find out how you think philanthropy should invest in community assets: the good people, great organisations and special places that make Northumberland a great place to be.

If you live or work in Northumberland, please do this by completing the survey below.

2. Good people

Some would say that it is people that make Northumberland such a good place to live. And voluntary organisations rely on those who go the extra mile to help others.

So, how can philanthropy support these good people to make things even better? Please choose your top 3 priorities in the list below

Apart from the things listed above, do you have any other ideas about where philanthropy could make a bigger difference in supporting good people?

3. Great organisations

Northumberland has an active sector of voluntary organisations, which are very much part of what makes our communities thrive.

What is the best way for philanthropy to help strengthen these organisations? Please choose your top 3 priorities in the list below

Apart from the things listed, do you have any other ideas about where philanthropy could make a bigger difference in supporting great organisations?

4. Special places

Northumberland has a rich heritage, great local landscapes, a vibrant cultural life and strong community spirit. These help explain why many people – whether born here or not – put down roots in the area.

5. One final thing…

As part of the national Vital Signs initiative in 2016, Community Foundations across the UK are asking one common question. We’d really welcome your views on it:

Where do you think the greatest need for philanthropy in your local area is? (Please name a theme or issue, rather than a specific organisation or place)
