Success Stories

Tyneside Cyrenians

Tyneside Cyrenians is a registered charity that provides homeless people with opportunities to improve their lives. It works to break the 'rubber ball effect' of simply providing accommodation as a solution to homelessness.  For many people this is not the answer as they don't have the skills or experience to maintain a tenancy and end up in back in homelessness services or on the streets.

Tyneside Cyrenians has recently been awarded a grant of  £16,000 from the Local Action on Global Issues Fund and £3,675 from the eaga Community Fund to install at combined heat and power unit at Elliot and Westbridge House which will generate electricity locally. It is hoped that it will drastically reduce their energy bill.
